- A previous heavyfor-dates infant (large baby greater than 9 pounds).
- A history of pregnancy induced high blood pressure, urinary tract infections, hydramnios (extra amniotic fluid), etc.
- Women of Hispanic, Aboriginal, or of African-American descent.
